DON1 - HANDOVER

As old as I am, I know an older man

Who’s life is at an end

As strong as I am, I buckle

at my daughters’ pain

As wise as I am, I have no words to give

to ease his daughters’ heartache

They stand and sit quivering, red eyed, exhausted

I hold out my hand and say goodbye

 He knows,

As a single tear leaves his closed eye

 He goes.
