The Assassin

Lurking amongst the shadows of the night

Dressed in black a fearful sight

Is a man the bad men fear

A soul who has never shed a tear

With a sword at his side hung in its sheath

A malevolent warrior who has brought much grief

For ten gold pieces he will stalk from the dark

And his blade will swiftly find its mark

Because he is an assassin of some repute

A judge who will settle any dispute

His name is not known and it will stay that way

And those that learn it he will slay

So watch your step when you pass his lair

For his heart is ice and his conscience is bare

For with steely gaze he will see you first

And take your life to ease his thirst
