From the corner of my eye I see it
drifting in with dark curling tendrils
As I close my eyes I hear it
softly moaning in the dark

when I turn my head
it just moves out of sight
when I strain to listen
the silence fills my ears

My dreams are filled
with it's tenuous presence
My waking hours are filled
with a strange expectation

If one day I turn my head
and it's there and I see it
or wake from a dream
and reach out and catch it

What will I see?
will I know what it is?
Will life be better or worse?
will I cease to exist?..........
